SISTERHOOD REVIVE MINI RETREAT

Attached is the invitation letter that was sent out a couple of days ago announcing our 2nd annual Women of Purpose Sisterhood Revive Mini Retreats. What a blessing that the Lord is allowing us His abundant provision to be able to share this time together again. Please read for details below but as of today ... REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN and you can use the form to the right to sign up. We wait with eager expectation for all God will do among us.

Hello lovelies ... we miss you all so much and think of you so often and we cannot wait to get back down there to look into your eyeballs, to listen to your stories, to praise the Lord alongside you, and to encourage you and be encouraged by you. So we're coming running. We will be there again on MAY 4-6, 2012.

We are having to change our location for this one as Villa Gracia only had space open in living quarters we didn't really want to stay in due to older buildings with mold and a whole lot of bunk beds and only a few showers (and with a whole lot of girls that's hard). So we are going to try out a new spot and we're excited about that. We promise we'll still do our very best to make it cutesy and with touches of love in every way that we can. We will be hanging out this time at Villas del Valle in Valley of the Angels.

As is the usual format, we will open the retreat at 1 pm on Friday May 4 for any of you who are able to come for some rest and relaxation and fellowship before the official retreat begins. Registration for those of you who aren't able to be there early will begin at 5 pm and we will officially start with the opening session at 6:00 pm. We will end early Sunday morning by 9 am after breakfast. Please plan to come when the retreat begins and stay until it ends if at all possible.

Please understand that we are unable to offer childcare and are diligently attempting to honor each womans time to rest and renew and spend quiet time with the Lord. We ask that you please make arrangments for your kiddo's so that you can come and steal away with the Lord for a couple days to return a better wife and/or mommy after taking some time to renew your heart. ** Exceptions are made for nursing momma's if necessary.

As always, because we are attempting to steward well what God has entrusted to us to use for this ministry and these sacred times that we get to spend together, please give us detailed information about when you plan to be there and when you plan to leave so that we may plan well for numbers on meals and accomodations. We will provide dinner on Friday night, 3 meals on Saturday, and a light breakfast on Sunday morning before we leave. The cost of the retreat is free to you and sponsored by some amazing women in the States who believe it is their privilege to help encourage and invest in you and all you're doing to further the Kingdom.

I will be bringing some dear dear friends with me who are excited to wrap their arms around your neck as well. Some of them are faces you'll recognize and at least one of them you've not met yet. Momma Grose and Lisa Gould will be familiar hearts. Terri Caldwell will join us as well - she served on the Purpose Team before she and her husband and family transferred for a job to Germany. She's heard us rant and rave about you all and is flying in from Germany to be a part of the weekend. Delightful women who love you deeply and pray for you often.

Adriana will be leading our hearts in worship again this time. We consider it a true honor that she chooses to partner with us in this and her gift for leading us to the Throne Room is an anointing in no uncertain terms. Come with a heart ready to worship. You will NOT be disappointed.

You are welcome in this space. Invited to come. Just as you are. However you find yourself in this season. Filled to overflowing. Dry as bones. Satisfied or aching. Healing or broken. Right where you are with whatever you bring.

He will meet us there. In that space of honesty and transparency and authenticity. In the seeking and in the being found. In the desire to be known and the fear of being known completely.

He comes, He loves, He pursues, He tranforms, He redeems in that space where His presence makes contact with our heart. We beg for that. His presence. Open hearts. The beauty of being found. Adored. Reminded. Sung over. Delighted in. Made Different. Deeply Changed. Passion restored. Purpose redefined. Cup overflowing.

Come Lord Jesus Come.

We are beyond ourselves excited to be near your hearts again. Please invite any other missionary woman you know who would be blessed by a time of renewal and rest.

It is our true privilege to invite you to come - it is our deepest prayer that in coming you'll be enveloped by the heart of the Father and leave different than you came. Refreshed. Redeemed. Restored.

You are loved abundantly by Him and by us. We'll see you soon.

LET'S DO THIS THING...AGAIN!! :)

Well AT LONG LAST - the dates are now set - the registration is now open - the planning and fundraising are well underway at home - and it appears that God has purposed in His heart for us to get to sit near you once again. We have longed and ached for this moment since we left you last October. You have been carried in our hearts, lifted in our prayers, and held close in the sharing of your stories. We are delighted to return and cannot wait to step foot on the soil where you wear your sweet selves out in service.

Our hearts desire is to bend down before you, even now, with a basin of water, and invite you to come and be refreshed, renewed, and revived. We are humbly asking for another opportunity to attempt to serve you. Please allow us this sacred privilege of coming alongside you and your ministry and attempting to speak life into weary places. You deserve a time to rest. God is offering you a time and a place to steal away to the high places with Him. We are honored to play any part in helping to usher you there.

It is a time set aside for you to be still. It's a surrendering to be served instead of being the one serving. It's a chance to be nurtured. It's an invitation to draw near to the heart of the Father with no other distractions for your time or your heart. We promise to show up ready to encounter Him among us. We pray you will too!!

Please Please Please invite any English speaking missionary woman that you know who would be blessed by this to come. We are planning a party and we want all of you to be a part of it.

Here are the details you need to know for now...

This years Sisterhood Revive Experience will be held at Villa Gracia on El Hatillo. If you need directions please let us know.

We will officially beginTHURSDAY OCTOBER 27 @ 5 pm. You may come anytime after 1pm. From 1 - 5 we will have space set up for you to visit, be pampered, read a book, have a hot cup of coffee or tea, just rest and relax. We encourage you to come as early as possible to get settled in and give your heart some time to prepare for our time together. It's a chance for a deep breath. Take it if you can.

We will end MONDAY OCTOBER 31 @ 9 am. We felt like we longed for so much more time the last time we were with you. More time to rest. More time to visit. More time in our prayer clusters to share and journey together. More time in praise and worship. Just more time. So we extended our time together this year. We humbly ask you to attempt to commit to being with us for the entire time. We know it's a sacrifice. It is for us too. We believe it to be a worthy one for all of us however. Each moment is promised to be planned with your heart in mind and directed by God's leading. We don't want you to miss a moment and we don't want to miss a moment that we have with you.

We cannot wait to see your faces...hear your stories...join your journeys...hug your hearts! We'll be there soon with arms wide open!!

Because He Adores You,
The Women of Purpose Team

May 6 & 7 - SECOND OVERNIGHT RETREAT

It's funny isn't it...a little over 6 months ago we might have bumped into one another in the bank or the supermarket and had absolutely no idea what one another's names were, let alone why in the world we were living in a little country called Honduras. When I bump into you now however in the airport or the restaurant, sincere heartfelt hugs are exchanged and a smile takes over just knowing the Christ who lives in you. I am certain you've noticed but the Lord has built a sisterhood here. It's a prayer we've all prayed at one point or another in this journey. He has answered and overwhelmed us by His kindness.

So we're calling for another SISTERHOOD party. It'll happen May 6 & 7 at Villa Gracia again.

Those sweet gals in the States are continuing to pray for and help fund these moments for us to get together. Your expenses will once again be covered by some very kind souls in the States who believe in what you're doing and want to provide moments for you to recharge so that you can continue to do it.

I am so doggone excited to see you again I can't stand it. Please pass the word along to anyone you think might be interested and register as soon as you can so that we can prepare for you all to be there.

Start Time: Registration will begin Friday May 6 @ 5:30 pm
HOWEVER you may come anytime after 1 pm if you'd like some extra time to lay in a hammock and read a book...take a nap...we will have stations set up again with something crafty to do...hot coffee and tea to enjoy together...from 1 pm to 6 pm will be no guilt down time and you are free to enjoy as much of that as you are able -- it is our hope that this will grant you time to rest.

End Time: Saturday, May 7 @ 4 pm

Where: Villa Gracia, KM 8.5, El Hatillo - Tegucigalpa

This is NOT limited to only the women who were with us at the last retreat. It is open to any English speaking gal who is ministering in this country who needs a place to rest and renew. It's a sisterhood we're eager to invite other women into. Please extend the invitation to anyone you know who would like to join us.

Please pray even now for the preparations that are being made and for our time that we will have together throughout this weekend. Our deepest prayer, aside from the networking, aside from all the fun we get to have being together in one spot, is that Christ will be elevated and glorified as we live out the calling He gave to us.

Please come spend a weekend with your sisters as we pursue His heart above all else.

See you soon!!!

With all our love,

Jen Wright, on behalf of the Women of Purpose Team

FEBRUARY 4,5

YOU ARE INVITED...

To the Sisterhood Revive Overnight Retreat :)

Ok sisters, we had so much doggone fun the first time, we're at it again. As promised, funded by some of my favorite people in the ENTIRE world, we have an opportunity to get together again to rejuvenate a bit. It certainly won't be exactly the same as when we had the whole team from the States and the event at CCI and all of that, but we're counting on the fact that God will show up and blow us away with His kindness again. He is faithful!!

When the idea for this first came about, we settled on the name "Sisterhood Revive" having absolutely no idea all that could or would come to mean. In ways I am unable to describe in words, in less than 48 hours we felt a sisterhood being born that extended farther and deeper than we could have known would happen. I really wish you could know ladies (in Honduras) how deeply you have settled into the hearts of some women (in the States) who love you and who pray diligently for you and who are DETERMINED with a vengeance not to leave you floundering or feeling like no one notices or cares. They are women of their word and this weekend is no doubt evidence of that. They have been asking when they get to come back and do it again. We'll talk more about that later, but let's just say they're itching to experience that all over again - you've touched them deeply.

One of my favorite parts of being together the last time was being able to look into the eyes of other women that you knew "understood" the things you said, but more than that, the things you couldn't find words for. We may not have understood each others stories completely, but one thing was certain...we all understood the dry empty moments you sometimes feel serving in a land away from home. We all welled up with tears when someone said the word "weary." It just felt good to be encouraged by someone who had walked a mile (or a million miles) through the same dusty places you have been walking. I was moved and encouraged beyond my ability to say so.

I cannot wait to see you all again. Please be prayerful about our time together even now. That God will meet us and mold us and help us to help one another look more like Him in the way we live and serve.

So...here are the details.

Dearest Sister and Servant,

May I speak to the places in you today that you seldom leave exposed? Not because you're hiding them, more because what you are called upon today to do does not leave any time for wrestling with the ache you live with most days. May I tread lightly and speak into those places not only as your sister in Christ but as a fellow missionary that I think at least partly shares your experience.

If you're anything like me you're pretty convinced that you have the best job in the whole world. I tell people often that I have the privilege of waking up every single morning and asking God who He would like for me to serve for that day. Not only do I have the privilege of doing that, but it's my "job." It's what I raise support to do. It's far beyond that, and you and I both understand that, it's my calling and that is what sustains me on the difficult days when a 9 to 5 at home sounds much more appealing than the heart ache that sometimes comes from daily witnessing desperation and poverty.

There are immense blessings that come with the life of a missionary. We know that. I trust God more because of this life. I love God differently. I know Him now as MY protector, refuge, lover, sustainer, comforter and friend in ways I could not have without this part of the journey. I am crazy about this place and these people and I am nuts about a God who would allow me to serve them.

As much as we know that we're called and that this is a privilege, I'm almost certain we share some other feelings. If I am honest, I get so tired of watching children suffer. There are some days when I really do feel like I am beating my head against a wall in a culture that I will never fully acclimate to (let's face it some days I want to be able to run 5 errands in 2 hours and have it include going to the bank). I sometimes get bitter that I can't paint my face and body and blend in to a country I love with all of my heart, but will always be seen as a white girl with money (while my bank account tells a very different story). I hate that I don't have the resources to meet the many legitimate needs I am asked to help with each day. I cry into a pillow many nights wishing I could change so much for so many. I get homesick. I miss praise and worship in my own language beside my sisters that I have walked a thousand miles with.

I used to feel so guilty about those feelings. I think God gently and lovingly revealed to me that those feelings were ok and that those were the very things that constituted the "sacrifice" in this. So many people have said to me wow that must be difficult sacrificing the "stuff." I have responded on numerous occasions that the "stuff" was the easiest to give up. It's the people and the relationships that you miss that make this difficult.

Let me share with you a little background, so that the rest of this will make sense. I am honored and privileged to still serve (from a distance) on a team in the States with a group of women that I cherish more than I will ever be able to explain. God has grown us and shaped us and challenged us and stretched us in ways we never expected and what I am about to share with you is for sure an evidence of that.

Each year in the little town of Parkersburg, WV we are part of planning and implementing a conference for about 900 women in our area to come together for a day of worship and fellowship. It is called the Women of Purpose Conference and it began 9 years ago. Over time the logistics and site have changed, but one thing has been the constant undertone of the purpose of all of this and it is to unify women from so many backgrounds and experiences to glorify God. So the first weekend of October every year women pour through the doors and we have a "breath of fresh air" day being together. It's a pep rally of sorts as we leave the day to go back to our respective locations encouraged and strengthened by the body of Christ coming together.

A couple years ago I asked the Purpose Team to start praying about bringing an experience like this to Honduras. I explained with tears pouring down my cheeks how dry it can sometimes feel as you minister and pour out with fewer opportunities like these to "fill up." Their response humbled me and still makes me weepy. That very day they said, "we're in, let's do it."

Through political crisis and plans changing and my mom having cancer this year and going through chemotherapy with her and many other hurdles, God is faithful and the dream is about to come true.

So consider this your official invitation and please come join us...

YOU ARE INVITED TO...

The FIRST EVER Women of Purpose SISTERHOOD REVIVE RETREAT

Thursday October 28 beginning at 1 pm - Saturday October 30 ending at 9:30 am

Location: Villa Gracia, Km 9 El Hatillo, Tegucigalpa

Sisters, this is a chance for you to come and fill up, rest, renew, refuel, and spend some time with God and your sisters who are serving here going through much of the same experience that you are. It will be a great opportunity for networking and building friendships with other women who are serving around the country as well. Imagine a weekend of pampering (manicures, pedicures, and massages included), voluntary play time with other sisters (craft spot and cafe environment just to name a couple), built in time for rest (hammocks and an amazing view included), praise and worship, prayer time, fellowship, and alone time with God. It's gonna be an amazing couple of days. All of it is TOTALLY FREE for you. It's our way of attempting to serve the servant.

We are so looking forward to it. More details to follow. As for now please sign up on the registration form on this website so we'll hold a space for you. We have a limited number of spaces reserved at Villa Gracia, so please register soon so that we'll know how many to plan for.

May you be blessed as you are a blessing dear one,
Jen Wright -
